FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- For the second consecutive year, the Atlanta Falcons are joining forces with the American Red Cross to promote blood donations from August 3-17.  During this drive, participating donors will be eligible to win a helmet signed by Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith or a pair of tickets to a Falcons preseason home game.

Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders will be on hand to support blood donations at the Marietta and Midtown blood donor centers on August 9 from 11 a.m.-noon.

Blood donations are typically slow during the summer months, but with help from the Falcons during the 2007 drive, donations increased by just more than 10 percent during a three-week period.
