FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Atlanta Falcons are taking novice fans to school as the team announces the return of Falcons Football Academy on Tuesday, October 28 -- a skills and drills workshop designed to teach fans the Xs and Os of the game through hands-on instruction from Falcons players and alumni.  Event proceeds benefit the Ed and Dora Voyles Breast Cancer Health Center and Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care of Atlanta for the advancement of breast cancer research initiatives.

During the workshop held at the Georgia Dome, guests will be taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the team’s newly renovated game day home, and led through chalk talk offense and defense sessions by players including Matt Ryan, Lawyer Milloy, Brian Finneran, Chris Redman, D.J. Shockley and Ben Hartsock.  Falcons greats including Billy “White Shoes” Johnson and Buddy Curry will teach on-field skills sessions where “rookie” fans can put their skills to the test.

Participants will also hear from Danielle Beverly, wife of former Falcons tight end Eric Beverly and a three-time breast cancer survivor.

The Falcons have partnered with Verizon Wireless, The Home Depot, Saint Joseph’s Hospital, 92.9 davefm and V-103 for the 2008 Falcons Football Academy.  For more details and to register for the few remaining spots, fans should log onto atlantafalcons.com/footballacademy.
