FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- In an annual tradition of giving, the Atlanta Falcons have again partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank for the FalCan Food Drive, Sunday, November 16 prior to the contest against the Denver Broncos. All proceeds from this food drive benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and its more than 800 partner agencies serving families in need.

With food banks across America experiencing record shortages, the Falcons are encouraging increased donations and offering fans an additional opportunity to give beyond game day.  Canned food items and monetary contributions can be donated at the FalCan Food Drive kick-off event on Tuesday, November 11 from 6-8 p.m. in front of the Falcons 365 team store at Perimeter Mall. Falcons players including Michael Turner, John Abraham, Jerious Norwood, Ovie Mughelli and Jamaal Anderson will join members of the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders to collect donations on site.  Fans will also receive a 25 percent discount off of all Falcons 365 merchandise.

On game day, fans will have opportunities to donate at all gates at the Georgia Dome.

With every dollar donated, the Atlanta Community Food Bank provides nearly $8.30 worth of groceries to those seeking food assistance.  The donations collected during the FalCan Food Drive will help the ACFB and its partner agencies serve more than 42,000 people each week.

During the 2007 FalCan Food Drive, Falcons fans donated 2,243 pounds of food, including monetary donations totaling $34,824 worth of groceries that directly benefited people throughout Atlanta seeking food assistance.
