The Atlanta Falcons would like to recognize the following acts and programs to the Georgia Dome for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Pregame
NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick
The NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick program creates a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls ages 8-15 to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing, and place-kicking skills. The top scorer in all age and gender divisions from each local competition will advance to the team championship. The top four scorers from all the first-place finalists in each age division in both the boys’ and girls’ age groups (from each of the NFL teams) will advance to the national finals. These 32 winners plus two parents or guardians will travel to the finals at an NFL playoff game in January.
National Anthem
Katherine Fritsch
Katherine "KK" Fritsch is a 10 year old fourth grader from Raleigh, No.C. KK is fortunate to have been chosen for a second consecutive year as the National Anthem singer for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes. Katherine enjoys soccer, acting and spending time with her family.
Color Guard
Central High School JROTC
Central High School is located in Phoenix City, Ala. Phoenix City is located approximately eight miles from the city of Columbus, Ga. Central High School is widely known for its athletic programs. However, the Color Guard unit of the JROTC department has put Central and Phoenix City on the map. In the past two years, they have competed in 12
competitions and have placed first or second in 10 of them. The have performed at local sporting events, college sporting events, parades, veteran ceremonies and memorials. Central JROTC is under the direction of Lieutenant Carlton Jones, retired U.S. Navy and Gunnery Sergeant Anthony Elder, retired U.S. Marine Corps. The Captain of the Color Guard is Adavious Morgan. The other members of this elite color guard unit are: Shauvez Bennett, Stephen Curtiss and Travorius Renfro. All of these young men maintain an average GPA of 3.0. Recently, this team competed in New Orleans for the prestigious Area EIGHT Navy Ball Color Guard Competition and placed second overall.
