Earned first-team All-America honors from The NFL Draft Report, Football Writers Association of America, Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News adding second-team accolades from the Associated Press.

Totaled 157 tackles (which ranked third in the nation), three interceptions, 10 tackles for loss and one sack while compiling eight games of at least 10 tackles.

Added first-team All-Big 12 Conference recognition from the league’s coaches and was selected as the Associated Press’ Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

His 11.2 tackles per game ranked seventh nationally and second in the conference.

Was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week against Utah State (9/15) after recording 12 tackles and one interception which was returned 45 yards for a touchdown.

Was credited for 16 tackles and one pass defensed at Colorado (9/29).

Collected 18 tackles, earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors versus Missouri (10/13).

2006 Season
Appeared in 14 games and recorded 37 tackles (20 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

Posted seven tackles (two solo) and a one tackle for loss against Texas A&M (11/4).

Totaled five tackles and one tackle for loss in the Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska (12/2).

Lettered as a true freshman appearing in 11 games and finishing with three solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

Attended Kingfisher High School (Oklahoma) Lofton was a standout linebacker who also played fullback.

Was rated the eighth-best middle linebacker in the nation by ESPN.com.

 As a senior, was named Parade first-team All-American, Daily Oklahoma All-State and Oklahoma High School Coaches Association All-State first-team.

Lettered three times and led the team with 168 tackles while adding eight sacks as a senior.

An all-state selection in basketball.
